"2001: A Space Odyssey" by Stanley Kubrik and Arthur C. Clarke is my favorite movie of all time. While there are several amazing spacecraft featured in the movie, the Jupiter mission ship "U.S.S. Discovery" and its computer system H.A.L 9000 play the central and pivotal role of the film.
